Rhode Island Drunk Driving Attorney

How much alcohol can someone safely drink before driving?

Everyone is different when it comes to safe amounts of alcohol ingestion before driving. Factors such as age, gender, previous food consumption, and weight all alter alcohol’s effects. Generally, one drink takes about an hour for the body to fully metabolize. To remain under the .08% blood alcohol content legal limit, it is suggested that men consume no more than two drinks in an hour and that women consume no more than one drink an hour. However, this suggestion is just a guideline and the safest choice is to simply not drink and drive.
